Hi, I’m Dr. Julia Rogers

Dr. Julia Rogers, PhD who is a icensed clinical psychologist in the Bay Area specializing in high-functioning anxiety, burnout, and emotional exhaustion in high-achieving teens, adults, and families across the Bay Area

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in California specializing in working with high-achieving teens and adults navigating anxiety, pressure, and major life transitions.

My work is with people who often appear to have it together on the outside but are carrying a constant stream of worry, self-criticism, or mental overdrive behind the scenes. Together, we work to understand what's fueling that pressure and develop a way of moving through life that feels more sustainable, grounded, and aligned with what matters most to you.

My goal is to help things feel more manageable, clearer, and less heavy, without asking you to become someone you're not.

My Background

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University, with a specialization in pediatric behavioral health.

Over the years, I’ve worked in a range of settings, including:

  • Bay Area public and private school systems

  • Community mental health

  • Medical/hospital settings

  • UCSF pediatrics

  • Kaiser - Child Psychiatry

These experiences shaped how I understand anxiety - not just as a clinical concept, but as something that shows up in everyday life for high-achieving kids, teens, and adults navigating demanding environments and high expectations.

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to you. No templates. No one-size-fits-all solutions. Just therapy that reflects who you are, what you're experiencing, and what you need.

Beyond The Bio & Credentials

Outside of work, I like things that feel grounding, a little light, and very human.

You’ll usually find me:

  • going to the movies (popcorn is non-negotiable, vanilla Coke is a plus)

  • walking and noticing every dog, cat, squirrel, and objectively adorable animal along the way (once I saw a gopher!!)

  • trying new food spots (strong opinions, limited cooking talent)

  • baking (results inconsistent, commitment unwavering)

  • dancing - lyrical and modern (former competitive dancer, still occasionally convinced I can recover it all in one stretch)

  • the Central Coast of California - beaches, elephant seals, Hearst Castle, and the occasional stop at the Madonna Inn

  • a good sunset, and basically any situation involving string lights

  • and maintaining a very serious appreciation and deep enthusiasm for beagles

I believe humor and lightness matter, not as a distraction, but as a way of staying human in the middle of things that feel heavy.

That tone naturally shows up in my work, especially with teens, where a little lightness often goes a long way.

Ready to Talk?

I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation so we can see if this feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure or commitment, just a chance to talk things through and ask any questions you have to see if we’re a good match.

Sessions are fully virtual, and I work with clients across California.
